Service Plus Automotive Celebrates 30 Years of Serving Our Community
This July, we are excited to celebrate 30 years in business. From 1992 - to 2022, our family-owned auto repair business has proudly served our community, and we are honored to continue top-notched service for many more years!
Humble Beginnings
When Don and Sharon Peck & a partner, started our business in July 1992, they leased a two-bay old gas station and added a 3rd bay. They quickly realized that the building and lot were not big enough for their business and started the planning process for the existing location today. Ground broke for our current facility in the spring of 2001, and we opened for business on July 1, 2001. It was then when Don’s daughter, Jennifer, joined the company after graduating from college with a BS in Business Management and working as an HR Manager at a large New Car Dealer about 50 miles away.
Service Plus Auto offered used car sales and auto repair at that time. After the recession and cash for clunkers in 2006-2007, the used car business became challenging, and we turned in our used car license in 2008. Since then, we have focused on the auto repair and maintenance service repair business.
Steady Growth
Our auto repair team has learned many hard lessons throughout the years, and we have expanded our team to what it is today. Jennifer has been running the business since Dad semi-retired in 2008 and has grown Service Plus Automotive since then. Our staff is family. We protect each other like family and function as a family unit with all that entails.
We love what we do. We love the auto industry (even with all the challenges it entails) and care about each of our team members to be the best they can be. We care deeply about our customers as well. We want them to have the best auto experience here and feel like they are also like an extension of our family. We know that it shines through, as most of our customer reviews say what a great experience they have when they visit.
As we reflect on what we’ve accomplished in 30 years, we see that our role in the Fort Drum and Calcium community is not just about caring for our team members and customers. It is about growing as individuals and looking at what the future means for our legacy.
Who We Support
This business supports multiple families, which has so much “stuff” in it. From the owners and team members that work here every day to the generations of families and military personnel we support in our community, we’ve learned that service is not a burden or a lot of pressure. Instead, it is something that we can take pride in, knowing that we are helping to better the lives of everyone we touch, one auto repair at a time.
When people ask us what the next 30 years will look like, our vision for the future is here. There is a good possibility of a 3rd generation owner(s). We have survived some pretty significant financial hardships and have come out on top. We will continue to plan for the future and do our part to increase our customer service even more. The only thing constant is change, and regardless of what happens, our goal is to continue serving this amazing community of people and their cars.
You’re Invited!
To celebrate our 30-year anniversary, we plan to throw a party, and everyone is invited! On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, we will host a classic car show and even have Sassy Mama's food truck to share yummy treats. Mark your calendars because this is a community celebration you don’t want to miss!
If you are interested in participating in our classic car show, it’s effortless. Simply show up with your vehicle and park it in our large parking lot. When you arrive, we will have you register for door prizes. Bring your cars and lawn chairs to hang out and help us celebrate. You’ll love the food and interaction with all the families and military personnel attending.
