One of the most significant pieces of the holiday season is giving. We spend hours upon hours looking for the perfect gift for someone and wrap things up in beautiful little boxes even after. Giving is a way to express gratitude, show love, spread good cheer, and make the world a better place. Giving is also something that can be done year-round. Remain generous!
Have A Gratitude Practice
A great way to ensure that Christmas doesn't disappear is by being grateful for everything surrounding us. This can help keep Christmas alive year-round because once we start seeing what makes us happy, it becomes easier to appreciate these things and ourselves!
Spread Good Cheer
You can make someone's day by spreading good cheer. A smile or a positive comment can brighten another person's day. You don't even have to be looking for it—if you notice someone who looks sad, ask them what's wrong and listen carefully to their response.
If your friend is having problems at work, perhaps you could help with some research on that topic; if your coworker is going through a difficult time in her personal life, offer her a shoulder to lean on or an ear that won't judge her emotions (even if they are negative).
In addition to making others feel better about themselves and their lives, spreading good cheer will also help keep you happy throughout the year! There will always be reasons why we're not feeling our best—but when we're surrounded by people who care about us, it helps lift our spirits so we can face these challenges more easily.
