As we say goodbye to 2020 and ring in the New Year, it’s time to take stock of where we are and make resolutions for 2021. People will vow to lose weight, take classes, learn a new language, etc. At Service Plus, we’d love to see more people make resolutions about the kind of car owner they’d like to be.
Here is a list of some of our favorite resolutions involving your car:
5. Stop speeding. Fast driving is hard on your car, it’s bad for your mileage, and, oh yeah, it’s illegal. It’s also the gateway to playing fast and loose with other rules, like lane changing and signalling and so on. And can lead to terrible accidents. So that’s a vice you can do without in 2021.
4.Buy new tires this year. It is crucial to have four good tires at all times. Your tires are what is connecting your car to the road, and if they’re neglected, you may leave the road rather violently!
3. Take more road trips this year. You may have the kind of job where you’ve been driving less since COVID-19 or maybe just going on trips a lot less, to avoid infection. Plan a few trips to a national park this year just to get out and into nature for a while. Or to a nice hotel somewhere with a view. GIve yourself a much needed break.
2. Save money to buy a new car. If you’ve got concerns about the lifespan of your current car and feel you will need a new one in the coming years, the time to start saving is now. Just $50 - $100 each month will accumulate nicely in the next year.
1. Take better care of your current car. If your car has a few issues but still runs, take it in for an inspection (you get a digital vehicle inspection with every service you do at Service Plus) and let us give you the head’s up on what your car is going to need for the next few years. If you do your best to follow that, and consider getting BG flushes to clear out contaminants if you need to, you might just not need to bother with saving for a new car at all.
